Alan Livingston grew up in Albertville, Alabama. Mr. Livingston’s family has a tradition of producing fine attorneys, who in addition to himself includes uncle Jack Livingston of Scottsboro, sister Gail L. Mills with Burr & Forman in Birmingham, and younger brother David Livingston, who practices in Gadsden.

Mr. Livingston   graduated   from   Birmingham-Southern College, and received his B. A. degree in 1970.  He received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1973, and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in the same year. He has practiced continuously with Lee, Livingston, Lee & Nichols, P.C. since 1973.

Mr. Livingston is presently admitted to practice in the Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama, as well as the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.  He has served as President of the  Houston  County  Bar Association,   as  a   Director   of   the   Alabama   Defense  Lawyers Association, and is a member of  the Alabama Defense  Lawyers   Association, the American Bar Association, the  Houston County Bar Association, the International Association of  Defense Counsel and the National  Association of   Railroad  Trial   Counsel. Mr. Livingston is  a  former  president of  the  Dothan Area Chamber of  Commerce, a  former   president  of  the National  Peanut Festival,  and  currently  serves as a member  of  the  Board of  Trustees for   Birmingham­ Southern College.

Mr. Livingston’s practice is concentrated in the areas of medical negligence defense, products liability, workers’ compensation, personal injury and railroad litigation defense.  Mr. Livingston was recently recognized as a Super Lawyer in the area of medical negligence defense.

Alan is married to the former Susan Haygood.  Susan is from Greenville, Alabama. Alan and Susan have two children, Joanna and Jonathan.
