Mr. Nichols is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1986, Mr. Nichols’s family relocated to Birmingham where he attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Following graduation from UAB, Mr. Nichols attended the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, graduating cum laude in 1997. Mr. Nichols’s career at Cumberland was marked by the receipt of a number of academic honors, including membership on the Cumberland Law Review and in Curia Honoris. Mr. Nichols was also named a Dean’s Scholar and is a member of the National Dean’s List.
Mr. Nichols is presently admitted to practice in all state and appellate courts in Alabama as well federal courts in the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He previously served as president of the Houston County Bar Association and as a member of the Grievance Committee.
Mr. Nichols’s practice is concentrated in the areas of general civil litigation, appeals, insurance coverage, employment law, workers’ compensation, construction defects and medical negligence.
William is married to the former Sharon Mullins. Sharon is from Birmingham, Alabama. William and Sharon have two daughters, Beatrice (4) and Jane (3).
